The Flying Particles

Composer/performer Robert Nasta conceived of The Flying Particles with the idea that the actual ensemble members would be as spontaneous as the music—reinventing the group for each new performance and recording. “This would allow me to improvise on a variety of instruments and in a wide range of musical settings.”  Robert has recorded five CDs under The Flying Particles name, and each CD reflects the musical sensibilities of the group for that particular session. As the musical techniques began to include various compositional concepts and strategies for improvisation, the group evolved into a permanent trio with Robert Nasta, Kevin O’Neil, and Russ Becker as the core members.
